Who am I?
When I started this blog in early 2011 this was my bio:
Sarah Rice.
37-year-old mother of a seven-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl. Married – 11 years and counting. MD of a tech-focused PR agency – eight years and counting.
Why this blog?
I am hitting that awful thing called a midlife crisis and need to find a way to move through it. I like words – can't spell many, but I like the clarity they give.
I am also a bit of a public person and this gives me a public forum for my personal journey. Not sure I like what that says about me. My wonderful friend Kate would say that I’m a bit of exhibitionist. And she is probably right. I am not one to suffer alone or silently. Nothing stoic about me, I’m afraid.
So join me. Tell me your stories. I would love to hear them.
In 2013 and this is my bio:
Sarah Rice.
39-year-old mother of an nine-year-old boy and an almost-six-year-old girl. Married - 13 years and counting. I closed my tech-focused PR agency in November 2011 after almost 9 years and have entered the world of full time employment with a consumer technology company as head of communications.
The why I started this blog remains the same.
In mid-2014 - its moved a bit.
Sasrah Rice
40 years old, son is almost 11, daughter is 7... (ageing is a trend it seems.)
That whole job thing? So over! I am not good at being employed. So I have stared a new consultancy - no longer pure PR but still in communications and still a tech specialist. Its fabulous. I am bloody loving it!
I no longer feel like I am in the mess of a mid-life crisis. It feels more like this is my life and I am working it out. Its not so much that I need to 'fix' things - more like I need to find how to flow with it. Y'know?
